# Vehicle Checks

## Daily Vehicle Checks

Before driving, make sure your vehicle is safe and road-ready:

- Windscreen, windows, and mirrors are **clean**
- **All lights** (including brake and indicator lights) are working
- **Brakes** function properly

It’s wise to carry spare **bulbs and fuses**.

## Periodic Checks

Regularly inspect and top up:

- **Engine oil**
- **Coolant** (radiator or expansion tank)
- **Brake fluid**
- **Battery** (if not maintenance-free)
- **Windscreen washer** bottles

Also check that tyres are:

- **Legal** — correct tread depth and no cuts or bulges
- **Properly inflated**

How often you check depends on how much you drive; refer to your vehicle handbook.

## Regular Servicing

Follow the manufacturer’s service schedule. Regular servicing:

- Keeps your engine efficient
- Reduces fuel waste and emissions
- Helps prevent breakdowns
