# Driving Your Own Vehicle

## Servicing

Have your vehicle fully serviced before travelling. Check:

- Spare tyre condition
- Tool kit and jack
- Spare keys

## Lights

Headlight deflectors may be required to avoid dazzling oncoming drivers. Carry spare bulbs and fuses.

## Mirrors

Ensure you have clear all-round vision. Exterior mirrors, especially on the left, are essential for driving on the right-hand side. When towing, ensure visibility down both sides of your vehicle and trailer/caravan.

## Seatbelts

Check all seatbelts and child restraints are secure and functioning correctly.

## Breakdown Prevention

Breakdowns abroad can be stressful. Service your car before travelling and carry necessary tools and documents. Motoring organisations can advise you on country-specific requirements.
