Have your vehicle fully serviced before travelling. Check:

Lights
Headlight deflectors may be required to avoid dazzling oncoming drivers. Carry spare bulbs and fuses.
Mirrors
Ensure you have clear all-round vision. Exterior mirrors, especially on the left, are essential for driving on the right-hand side. When towing, ensure visibility down both sides of your vehicle and trailer/caravan.
Seatbelts
Check all seatbelts and child restraints are secure and functioning correctly.
